Project title:

The project HURO/0901/200/2.4.2 Joint disease notification system and database development and its extension to the Hungarian-Romanian border area - Joint Health Network (JOHN) Joint computerized epidemiological surveillance system across the Romanian and Hungarian neighbouring countries. The key to prevent and control the communicable disease is the timely data transmission. Therefore, this project aims to develop a joint web-based system, that could substitute the paper based reporting in Hungary and Romania, could reduce the major differences between the two different surveillance systems and could improve the engagement of the partners for more effective collaboration. The joint system will serve as well as the International Health Regulation requirement of the development of epidemiological capacity across the borders. According to our vision the joint system of epidemiological surveillance will significantly improve health security of the border region, and will reduce the possibility of diseases and infections.
