Hungary-Romania Cross-Border Co-operation Programme 2007-2013

Exhibition in commemoration of János Arany 27 January 2012

Project title:

Municipality of Debrecen City of County Rank has submitted application along with the Municipality of Nagyszalonta (Romania) for the application construction 2. first priority, enhancing the joint social and economic development of the Hungarian-Romanian border area; 2.1. second priority, promoting the cooperation of the cross-border business activities; 2.1.3. the activity field of tourism development in the frame of the Hungary-Romania Cross-border Co-operation Programme 2007-2013. The project subject is the exploration and establishment of the cultural tourism opportunity and developing common tourism products between the two cities. In the frame of the application – HURO/0901/192/2.1.3, CoolTourA – it will be organised the Janos Arany commemoration exhibition. Nagyszalonta and Debrecen: two cities, what were equally played honourific roles in the life of Janos Arany. Previous is by right of native place, the latter is by the location of finding. The exhibition embed in a fiction frame of Bolond Istók, presents the procedure that issue in finding new directions in himself and self-recognition of the adventuresome Arany. The two Arany-images, what attach to the study years and the Collegium of Debrecen in part, and to the head notary lodge of Nagyszalonta partly, are not different in its character but in its tones and emphasis because it can make distinction on the score of the individual life goal between the adventuresomeness of the 16 years old child and the ways of life of the young man that are lead away from his family.
